Elbow Games Blog

Welcome to my blog, where you will find information about my way of the warrior on the Game Dev side.

Elbow Games, Indi Game Dev, Unity Engine

So, let me introduce myself. My name is Fedor Loktev. Someone could find my name difficult, okey, you can call me Theodor.

My journey in gameDev started in school. My teacher offered me to participate competition between schools in my town. There was something like Project Jam for schoolchildren. I have made a decision to venture into the realm of game development and my exploration has led me to the Unity Engine. It was a good choice because Unity provides a lot of information, tutorials, and a vibrant community of developers who are always eager to assist with bug resolutions and engage in continuous learning through forums. My first game was "Who wants to be a millionaire" but for schools and based on the school's knowledge. By the way, took 1st place. Lucky. Then my teacher give me the opportunity to participate in an international competition called "INFOMATRIX-ASIA". INFOMATRIX is an international computer-based project competition, born from a desire to unite the world's best IT students. The INFOMATRIX-ASIA was originated from the INFOMATRIX competition that is held in Bucharest Romania, in order to expand the horizons of the competition and provide more opportunity for students to participate in. 3rd place. Lucky again.

After school in 2018, I entered the Taraz State University for the course "construction site".Don't ask me why... it is a long story. Maybe I will tell you later in this blog.

I didn't have enough time to make games... but in 2020 we encountered COVID-19, and as a result, I had a lot of free time at home. Best time to return to programming, isn't it?

First protect - simple game with Among Us character.(Imposter Among Space)

Goal - avoid asteroids, and bring coins.

Mechanic - 2 platforms situated at the top and bottom of the screen, a character moving between them if you tap to screen, character changing direction to another platform.

The difficulty is that asteroids appear between the platforms.

Google Play delete this app after a couple of weeks because I used Among Us characters.

Second project - first big challenge for me(Color Track)

Goal - Provide a cube to finish by road and avoid traps.

Mechanic - If you tap on the screen, the cube will move; lift your finger, and the cube will stop. You can move only by road.

The difficulty - is traps.

You can try it there:

For Android

For Desktop

Third project - VR experience(Museam VR)

Goal - Try myself in VR site.

Mechanic - You can use your phone and glasses to discover the museum.

You can try it there:

For Android

Last one for this part of the blog...

Forth project - First paid project. (Culture Panda) A friend of mine asked me to make a game for his students. He was a teacher in school.

Goal - Grab all bamboo using scriptable moving.

Mechanic - You need to develop the movement logic for the Panda. You can use movement patterns to create the structure. After tapping "OK," the panda will start executing the logic. If the logic is correct, the panda will grab all the bamboo. However, if the logic is incorrect, the panda will move out.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me on this journey, including my teacher, fellow developers, and the vibrant Unity Engine community. Your encouragement and assistance have been invaluable.
